Lydia Barnes
Lydia Barnes, a dedicated PT Technician, originally hails from upstate New York and embarked on a journey to Florida a year ago, driven by her aspiration to pursue a degree in physical therapy. Presently enrolled at Hillsborough Community College, Lydia is gearing up for her future plans to join USF.
Lydia's ardor for physical therapy was sparked by a knee injury she sustained five years ago. This personal experience led her down the path of recovery, which involved several years of physical therapy and ultimately a Medial Patellofemoral Ligament reconstruction surgery. Her remarkable rebound, bolstered by extensive rehabilitation, was made possible through the guidance of a compassionate physical therapist. Inspired by this transformative process, Lydia made the decision to channel her energy into a career in physical therapy. Almost immediately after being discharged, she embraced the role of a technician.
With over two years of experience under her belt, Lydia has diligently collaborated with therapists, aiding in the recovery of individuals facing diverse injuries and surgeries. Her immersion in the field has not only enriched her professional journey but also translated into her personal growth, evident in her dedication to regular workouts. Outside of her fitness pursuits, Lydia finds solace in the company of her cat, Mo.
