Dr. Errika M. Walker, MD
Errika M. Walker, M.D. knew from early childhood healing practices would be her destiny. She attended Xavier University of Louisiana, the country’s top college for the placement of African Americans into medical school. She is a board certified emergency medicine physician; her Alma Mater for the path was the University of Southern California School of Medicine, graduating in 2000.
The first African American in her residency program at Naval Medical Center San Diego, graduating in 2006, she completed over 9 years of active duty with the US Navy resigning as a decorated Lt. Commander. She also was the first African-American and first female General Medical Officer on an aircraft carrier, the USS Constellation. Naval time had Dr. Walker living in Italy for 6 years including time in active duty in Sicily where she served as the director of EMS. Working for the DoD as a staff attending in the ER in Naples, she cared for diplomats, NATO military personnel, and US military members along with their families. Since coming to Fl in 2014, she continues to work with fellow veterans at the Tampa VA.
Constantly craving education, Dr. Walker has her 500hr yoga teacher training and Reiki Master certificate from Heartwood Yoga Institute. Dr. Walker also has a passion for plant-based lifestyle medicine and has two certifications in plant-based nutrition. She has passion to improve health through “Natural Enhancement Medicine” by the addition of supplements to enrich outcomes. Dr. Walker rounds out her downtime with excitement of her two daughters, a dog, and a cat.
